PATIENCE
If you are
any good teacher, your students
will experience frustration.That is
because you will
be stretching them.You
will be leading
them to discovery ,
to change.Like a
snake shedding its
skin, sometimes they will
be uncomfortable as
they grow. That discomfort
may manifest itself
in unpleasant ways.THEY
MAY EVEN LASH
OUT AT YOU.BUT
DON”T LASH BACK.They
may act out
with disruptive behavior.BE
FIRM, BUT BE GENTLE.
PATIENCE
really is a
virtue. Built into your
character system, it is
a shining example
of MATURITY. Remember , you are teaching with
your life as
well as your textbook.You may
need to view
PATIENCE as a
skill that needs
improvement , along with your
other teaching methods.RELAXATION , SPIRITUAL
MEDITATION , EXERCISE are
techniques that can
be employed to
help you be
more PATIENT.Students need a “ time
out “ to
focus on their
behavior once in
a while. Maybe TEACHERS
need a time
out as well.CHOOSE
YOUR WORDS AND
ACTIONS CAREFULLY. In some
regards , THEY WILL
LAST FOREVER.
PATIENCE
is learned one
student at a time
!
“EDUCATION
MAKES PEOPLE EASY
TO LEAD , BUT
DIFFICULT TO DRIVE ;
EASY TO GOVERN ,
BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO
ENSLAVE.”---Lord Brousham
